About the Colonel
To say that The Colonel is fan of the guitar and everything about it would be a massive undersatement of astronomical proportons! The purpose of the 1st annual Super Dooper Guitar Party is to bring together all of his favorite players, vintage and modern guitars, amps, stringed instruments, memorbilia, vendors, food, drinks, good friends and the general public to celebrate his love of guitar music and his desire to share it with everyone! His intrests in unique and unusual instruments is rooted in the birth of the early electric guitars of the 1940's,50's and 60's and the the great sounds that they produced for generations to enjoy over and over. He has spent many years and countless hours researching books, conversing with other guitar enthusiasts, visiting websites, film and video footage and listing to records and anything he can basically get his hands on! It is a genuine and true passion that makes him a respected and noted figure in the world of guitar insrumental music and it's related fields. He is extremely thankful to everyone that has inspired him and helped him find his way on this exciting and colorful path and is looking forward to this event with great excitement!
Let's also not forget that, first and foremost, the Colonel is a guitar player and a showman in every sense of the word! He never misses an opportunity to get dressed up and show the audience his favorite new/old guitar and amp and talk to anyone that will lend an ear and always greets you with a firm salute and a big smile! His Serious music career started with Rhode Island's very own the Amazing Royal Crown's, the Lucky Diamonds and continues to this day with his good buddies as The Cobra-Matics who will be kicking off the opening night festivities. He is featured on many recordings with several more to come, written some catchy tunes, produces music, Dj's, has his own label and has a sound and style that is very proudly his own! So on the weekend of Oct.16,17th and 18th let's all head on over to the beautiful old German Meeting Hall in Pawtucket, Rhode Island... cause... THE COLONEL'S HAVIN' A PARTY!
